What is EMR / EHR?
Electronic Medical Record / Electronic Health Record, the digital chart of a patient's encounters, vitals, prescriptions, lab results and history, replacing paper case sheets.

- ABDM
- Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, India's national framework for digital health, which standardises how patient records and health IDs are created and shared across compliant systems.
- ABHA
- Ayushman Bharat Health Account, a unique health ID under ABDM that links a patient's records across hospitals and clinics, so their history follows them digitally.
- IPD & OPD
- In-Patient Department (patients admitted to beds) and Out-Patient Department (patients seen and sent home the same day). Hospitals run both; clinics are usually OPD-only.
- TPA claim
- A health-insurance claim processed through a Third-Party Administrator, which sits between the hospital and the insurer to authorise cashless treatment or reimbursement.
